Ear Gear's Beginnings

Shameera was born in 1996, the second child to parents Mark and Assunta Rosal. At age 2, Shameera was diagnosed with mild to moderate hearing loss, and began wearing hearing aids soon after. For Mark and his wife, it was a battle every day to get her to wear her hearing aids. The hearing aids chafed and were uncomfortable to wear. Shameera would rip the hearing aids off her ears. Hours were spent looking for her hearing aids.

When they turned to their Audiologist for help, they found that there wasn't anything on the market to help. After giving the problem a fair bit of thought, Mark created the first pair of Ear Gear for his daughter. Ear Gear was born!

How Ear Gear Grew

When Mark showed Shameera's Audiologist the Ear Gear Corded design, she loved it!

Ear Gear started out by selling Ear Gear Corded to parents of children with hearing aids and a large breakthrough came when Oticon Pediatrics saw the value of Ear Gear and included the corded model in their Pediatric kits.

Shortly there after Mark learned that the Ear Gear sleeve actually protected the hearing aids from sticky fingers, sweat, dirt, and moisture, thus protecting not only loss, but other common complaints of wearing hearing aids. Word spread and adults heard about the protection and comfort Ear Gear provided for children but felt they didn't want the cords. So Ear Gear Cordless was created.

Originally Ear Gear was made for hearing aids only. Mark quickly discovered there were other sizes of hearing aids and hearing processors that would benefit from Ear Gear. Each with their unique requirements he continued to expand the Ear Gear product line.

Ear Gear is now sold to customers and distributors all over the world.
